A one day workshop at Bowser's Landscape Painting Summer Camp 🌲🏔️🖌️

What is happening in this class?

We'll meet up at The Rose of the Airport Shop in Neukölln as a group with up to 7 participants for a one day painting class.
I’ll show you step by step how to paint a landscape in the wet-on-wet technique Bob Ross used to paint in.
You’ll paint a 40x50 cm landscape on canvas.
We have a lunch break.
You paint some more and finish your landscape.
We’re done!

Do I need any painting experience?

What language will the class be in?

What do I have to bring?

Wear clothes that can get stained. We’ll paint with oil. It’s mayhem!
Your painting needs to dry for several weeks. If you want to take it home on the same day, bring a box for transport that is at least 40x50 cm big on the INSIDE (you can also buy a box at the studio for 3 €).
If you prefer, you can leave the painting at my studio and pick it up once it's dry.

How long does it take?

Will there be a break?

Yes, we'll have a lunch break at about 1 pm. There's some nice options in the area for food. You can either go have lunch in a group, or if you prefer some alone time, this is a good moment for it.
We're close to Reuterplatz and the canal, so there are great spaces to sit and stare into the void, in case you need that.

How do I sign up and what do I pay you?

First, you buy a "voucher" here at the shop. Or more than one if you want to book for your friends as well. This product page will show how many places are left in each course.
The cost of the voucher (90 €) functions as a deposit and a minimum price. On projects that excite me, I work with a sliding scale. The price per person for a full-day class is 90-180 €.
The minimum price covers my expenses for the class and I can pay myself a minimum wage. The maximum price covers all the expenses and I can pay myself a fair wage for my work. You pay what you can afford within this price range.
All materials as well as coffee, tea and cookies for the day are included in the price.
At the end of your class, you pay what you can afford / deem worthy (0-90 €) on top of the inital 90 €. You can pay with paypal or in cash.
If you have a gift card, everything is already covered.
If you buy a gift card for someone else, you are asked to pay the full price in advance.
After buying your voucher, you will receive an e-mail with a link to an application form. Please fill it out asap as it is crucial for planning the classes.

Any reason why this might not be for me?

Even though there's lots of fun in it, a landscape painting class is very technical. There is some room for experimenting in the last segment of the class and also once you're more trained at this, but in general it's very step-by-step and the technique won't work if you go rogue in between. If you prefer a more abstract and free painting style, this class might not be for you.
You'll have to bring some patience. It looks effortless when Bob Ross paints his landscapes, and it was effortless for him because he did this a zillion times before. You won't have the muscle memory, so be prepared that it won't be such an easy ride. I'll guide you through all the steps as good as I can.
It will smell like oil paint. As a person who is sensitive to odours themself, I wanted to bring up this information.
